Millions in Undeclared Assets Found in Ukraine Military Recruitment Scandal
Ukraine's National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) has announced the discovery of a significant corruption scandal involving 18 officials from Territorial Conscription Centers (TCCs) and military commissariats. The investigation revealed undeclared income exceeding 28.5 million hryvnias. According to the NACP report, many officials had assets far exceeding their declared incomes. One official, whose name has not been released, was found to have undeclared assets worth over 5 million hryvnias. "This is a blatant abuse of public trust," said a source within the NACP, speaking on condition of anonymity. The NACP is currently pursuing further investigations and legal action against those implicated. This scandal highlights the ongoing challenges Ukraine faces in combating corruption, particularly during wartime. The investigation serves as a stark reminder of the importance of transparency and accountability in government institutions.
