Influencer Battles for Privacy After Son's Death
Emilie Kiser, a social media influencer, is fighting to keep details about the death of her three-year-old son, Trigg, private. She filed a lawsuit on May 27th in Arizona Superior Court against the City of Chandler and the Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office to prevent the release of public records. The lawsuit states that over 100 requests for these records have been filed. Kiser's lawyer argues that the records contain graphic details that are not relevant to any government investigation and would only cause further emotional distress to the family. "The records requested presumably reveal graphic, distressing and intimate details of Trigg's death that have no bearing on government accountability," the lawsuit states. The Chandler Police Department released a statement offering condolences and explaining that further details would not be released until the investigation is complete. This case highlights the conflict between the public's right to know and the family's need for privacy during a time of immense grief.
