SANTA CRUZ, BOLIVIA – A man has reported being defrauded of 18,500 Bolivianos in a cattle purchasing scam allegedly orchestrated from within Palmasola prison. The victim, a cattle merchant, stated he was promised 17 heads of cattle and received a video purporting to show the animals being loaded for delivery. Trusting the transaction, he deposited the full amount, only to find that the livestock never arrived. The man, visibly distressed, explained that he traced the phone numbers used by the scammers to Palmasola prison. "I deposited the money yesterday, and the cattle never arrived at my house," he recounted, tearfully adding, "I want my money back." He further claimed to have identified the individuals responsible, stating they are currently detained in Section 8 of the prison. The alleged scammers reportedly sent a video showing cattle being loaded onto a truck, simulating the dispatch of the animals to their destination. This tactic seemingly convinced the victim to complete the payment. Authorities have been notified, and the victim is now demanding the full restitution of his lost funds.
