In Rurrenabaque, Beni, residents of the Isla Grande urbanization took matters into their own hands, apprehending a suspected thief who had entered private agricultural properties in Villa Progreso. Tired of persistent insecurity, the community placed the individual in a 'Justiciero Vecinal' (Community Justice) stocks, an ancestral form of punishment. This action aims to set a precedent against illicit activities and serves as a plea to authorities for increased street lighting and constant patrols in the area. Meanwhile, in Cochabamba, authorities intervened in a clandestine dog breeding facility, rescuing numerous canines found in deplorable conditions. Initial evaluations reveal widespread malnutrition among the rescued dogs, with two reportedly in critical condition. Officials from Zoonosis indicated that the animals also exhibited signs of panic and fear towards humans, suggesting a history of mistreatment. Legal proceedings are underway, with the owners facing a fine of 1,000 Bolivianos per animal once they are identified and presented.
