Santa Cruz, Bolivia – Elvis Arnes has been remanded in preventive custody at Palmasola prison, facing charges of aggravated fraud. Authorities allege Arnes served as a crucial link between inmates at Palmasola and an external network responsible for a multi-million dollar scam. The fraud reportedly involved the diversion of three trucks laden with steel coils and metal profiles, valued at approximately 1.5 million Bolivianos. These materials were subsequently commercialized within Santa Cruz. According to Arnes's legal counsel, the accused was merely a pawn in the scheme, contacted by his own stepson, who is currently held in preventive detention at Palmasola. Arnes was allegedly instructed to oversee the redirection of the trucks, believing he would receive a modest payment of 200 Bolivianos, and was unaware of the vast scale of the illicit operation. Police and the Prosecutor's Office continue their investigation to identify and apprehend all other individuals involved in this extensive fraud.
