Santa Cruz Council Members Denounce Attempts to Invalidate Sessions
SANTA CRUZ, Bolivia – Council members Marcelo Vidaurre and Lola Terrazas have publicly denounced what they describe as an attempt by the Unidad Cívica Solidaridad (UCS) party to invalidate sessions held by the current Municipal Council administration. The council members emphasized the necessity of adhering to established procedural times for the proper functioning of the council.During a press briefing, Councilwoman Lola Terrazas stated, "Those two council members have not come to work for more than two months at this Municipal Council. But they want to invalidate everything that has been done, to leave it at zero, that is, to invalidate everything that has been done." She further criticized the alleged actions, attributing them to the mayor's ambition and desire to control the legislative power, asserting that such actions lead to impunity and leave the city without proper governance. "We cannot, as a Municipal Council, have our institutionality tossed around," Terrazas added, calling for clear information from the electoral tribunal.
