
Stray Bullet Allegedly Causes Accident on Oruro-Pisiga Highway, Two Injured
ORURO, Bolivia – A public transport vehicle suffered an accident on the Oruro-Pisiga highway, with initial reports suggesting it was caused by a stray bullet. The incident, which occurred in the Copacabanita community, involved an officer from the Special Anti-Smuggling Operations Unit (CEO). According to witnesses, the vehicle was struck by a bullet, leading to the accident. Two women sustained injuries and were promptly transported to a medical center in Oruro for emergency treatment. Eyewitnesses at the scene have accused the CEO officers of attempting to bribe the victims following the incident. One affected individual stated, "How are we going to trust you if we don't know you? You yourself don't know the place." Another added, "This is not a money solution, brother. This is about integrity. Imagine if it had hit her in the eye." The driver of the affected vehicle was seen engaging in discussions with military personnel at the site. Authorities have confirmed that the case is currently under investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident and address the allegations made by witnesses.
