Zhetysu Region Sees Massive Surge in Tax Compliance Thanks to Innovative App-Based Campaign Zhetysu, Kazakhstan – A new government initiative is proving highly successful in boosting tax compliance and revenue in the Zhetysu region. The "Demand a Check – Win a Prize!" campaign, launched by the Committee of State Revenues, has seen a remarkable increase in the number of fiscal checks issued and their total value. According to the latest data, the number of checks issued in the first quarter of 2025 increased by 220% compared to the same period last year, while the total sum of fiscal checks grew by an impressive 237%. The campaign leverages the Amian mobile application, allowing consumers to easily scan their receipts and automatically participate in prize draws. This simple yet effective method has encouraged greater participation from the public. "The app makes it so easy to participate," said one resident of Zhetysu. "It's a win-win – I get to potentially win a prize, and I'm also doing my part to support the region's economy." In addition to the main campaign, the region has also launched the "Bayge" campaign, which provides additional incentives for active users. The most active participants in each region receive a 100,000 tenge reward at the end of each quarter, further encouraging participation. The success of these campaigns demonstrates the potential of innovative approaches to improve tax compliance and public engagement. The Zhetysu region serves as a model for other regions looking to boost their tax revenue and enhance public trust in government initiatives.
