Co nie przejdzie kontroli na lotnisku? Jak się okazuję, uwagę służb przykuwają nie tylko nietypowe przedmioty. Przekonała się o tym polska podróżnicz…
Warsaw, Poland A recent incident at Warsaw Chopin Airport has brought to light an unexpected cause for alarm at security checkpoints: common hand cream. A traveler, known online as "Sama przez świat," recounted her experience of being stopped and subjected to an intensive search after her hands triggered an explosive detection alarm. The woman, who frequently travels from Chopin Airport, described the standard procedure of swabbing phones and hands for traces of suspicious substances. However, on this particular occasion, her hands set off the alarm, causing a stir among fellow passengers and leading to a thorough inspection of her person and luggage. "I was completely red, my heart was pounding, a million thoughts raced through my mind – who had I met, what had I touched?" she explained, detailing her distress during the unexpected stop. The security personnel, acting professionally, conducted a second swab and further investigation. The surprising culprit? Hand cream. The traveler discovered that many hand creams contain glycerin, an ingredient also found in some explosive compounds, which can trigger airport detection systems. Her advice to fellow travelers is simple: "Don't cream your hands even at home before entering the airport. Do it after security." The incident serves as a reminder of the stringent, and sometimes overly sensitive, nature of airport security protocols, where even everyday cosmetic products can lead to unforeseen complications for passengers.
