MÁLAGA, Spain – Preparations for the Feria de Málaga 2025 are underway, with new regulations set to shape this year's festivities. The highly anticipated fair will take place from August 16th to August 23rd, offering a week of traditional celebrations. Key changes for the upcoming event include updated operating hours for the 'casetas' (fair tents), which will now extend until 7:00 AM on festive days and their respective eves. This adjustment aims to accommodate longer celebrations while ensuring public order. In a significant shift, the traditional 'botellón' (street drinking) will be prohibited in public spaces across both the day and night fair areas. Alcohol consumption will be restricted to authorized establishments such as restaurants, bars, and the casetas themselves. This measure is part of an effort to promote a healthier and more controlled environment during the festivities. Furthermore, casetas will now have the right of admission, allowing them to regulate entry based on dress code, prohibiting beachwear or sportswear. However, it has been explicitly stated that access to all casetas within the fairgrounds must remain free and gratuitous. Any form of prior charge, invitation, offer, or mandatory consumption for entry is strictly forbidden, ensuring that the fair remains accessible to all attendees.
