QR Code Scam Targets Malaysian Shoppers

A new scam is circulating in Malaysian shopping malls, targeting unsuspecting car owners. Fake summons slips with QR codes are being placed on windshields. When scanned, these codes lead victims to a fake "discussion session," ultimately granting scammers access to their bank accounts. One victim has already reported financial losses. Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and avoid scanning any suspicious QR codes found on their vehicles. "This is a very clever scam," says one police spokesperson. "The scammers are exploiting people's fear of legal repercussions." The police are investigating and advising people to report any suspicious activity immediately.
