Dollar Tree Shoppers Slam Secret Price Hikes: "It's Not a Rumor Unfortunately”
They say they might as well go to 5 Below or T.J. Maxx if they're going to pay $5.
Philadelphia, PA – Dollar Tree shoppers in Philadelphia are noticing a shift in pricing, as some local stores begin to implement a price increase on select items. Cleaning tools, including mops, brooms, and sponges, as well as ceramic dinnerware such as plates, cups, and bowls, are now being sold for $1.50, up from the previous $1.25 price point. A local shopper, who visited three Dollar Tree locations in Northeast Philadelphia, documented the changes. While one store had already updated the prices on cleaning supplies with red $1.50 stickers, another still displayed the $1.25 price on its shelf tags. A third store showed a general sign indicating cleaning supplies were $1.50 unless otherwise marked, and an employee was observed replacing shelf tags for ceramic items. Online, the same cleaning tools and ceramic items are currently listed for $1.25. The Dollar Tree corporate office has not yet publicly commented on these specific price adjustments in response to inquiries.
