A British shopper, Shirley Bekker, recently embarked on a unique journey to Foshan, China, to furnish her home, citing significant cost savings compared to purchasing items in the UK. Her trip highlights the potential for international procurement of home goods. On her first day, Bekker secured a sofa for £350, a coffee table for £150, and a rug for £50. The second day saw her delve into art and lighting. She purchased five 3D art pieces for a total of £220. Navigating a vast lighting showroom proved challenging, but she ultimately selected several lamps, including a floor lamp priced at £100, a feather lamp for £40, a large arch lamp for £60, and a bedside lamp for £40. She also acquired a pendant light for £20 and a mushroom lamp for £40. Bekker concluded her shopping spree by purchasing a solid wood dining table for £80. Initially considering the accompanying chairs at £35 each, she opted for custom-made leather chairs at £65 each to match her sofa. Her negotiations resulted in a final deal of £200 for the dining table and two custom chairs.
