Accra, Ghana – In a significant operation targeting illegal immigration and begging, the Ghana Immigration Service announced the arrest of 2241 foreign nationals. The arrests took place across five sub-zones of Accra, identified as hotspots for this activity. A spokesperson for the Ghana Immigration Service stated, "This operation is part of our ongoing efforts to address illegal immigration and the problem of begging in our capital city." The breakdown of those arrested is as follows: 384 male adults, 577 male children, 525 female adults, and 755 female children. All those arrested are undergoing profiling and medical screening. This large-scale operation demonstrates Ghana's commitment to addressing these complex social issues.
