Ghana Promises Lower Data Prices by Year's End

Ghana's Minister of Communications, Samuel Nartey George, addressed concerns about high data prices in a recent speech. He assured the public that data prices would decrease by the end of the year. This follows the formation of a committee to develop a policy roadmap. The committee includes telecom companies and regulators. The ITU is also conducting an independent study on tariffs. "To the young people and the people of this country, my promise was that at the end of this year, we will see prices of data drop and I remain committed to it. We will deliver on that. Trust the process." said the Minister. The minister's commitment offers hope for more affordable internet access in Ghana.
