Ghana Tackles Tricycle Safety: Authorities Launch Road Safety Education Campaign Ghana is taking steps to improve road safety for tricycle riders. A recent news report highlights an ongoing campaign to educate riders on safe practices and compliance with traffic regulations. The initiative is being actively supported by the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA). The Ashanti Region is a focus of the campaign. Samuel Gyimah, Assistant Planning Manager for NRSA in the region, was interviewed. He spoke about the challenges of regulating tricycles, stating, "The challenge that we have had with tricycles over the years is something that we are all looking at to holistically put those chaos that we used to see behind us." The campaign emphasizes safe riding practices, including obeying traffic laws and avoiding riding on the road shoulder. Gyimah stressed, "If you must ride, ride safely. Always obey traffic regulations. Make sure you are not riding on the shoulder of the road." This initiative reflects Ghana's commitment to enhancing road safety and reducing accidents involving tricycles, a common mode of transportation in the country.
