Mushroom Hunter Highlights Abundance and Litter Problem in Belarusian Forest
Grodno Region, Belarus – June 5, 2025: A recent video posted online by mycology enthusiast Alexander Gorbatsevich has highlighted both the abundance of mushrooms in Belarusian forests and a concerning issue of littering. Gorbatsevich, who goes by the nickname skyforest.ai, filmed himself collecting various types of mushrooms, including boletus, in a pine forest. "5 June 2025 Belarus! Boletus mushrooms have appeared!" he exclaimed in his video description. However, his excitement was tempered by the visible trash scattered throughout the forest. He expressed his concern: "Let's each take a bag from the store and collect trash. I think we can clean up in a month, so that it's pleasant to walk around." Gorbatsevich's video serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible behavior in natural areas, even while enjoying activities like mushroom hunting. The abundance of mushrooms indicates a healthy ecosystem, but the litter underscores the need for collective action to preserve the beauty of Belarusian forests.
