Paiján's "Fertile Land" Fair: Horses, Heart, and Heritage
Paiján, a small district in the north of Peru, recently hosted the "Paiján Tierra Fértil" fair. The event was a celebration of local culture and traditions. The main attraction was the interprovincial Peruvian Paso horse competition, attracting 115 participants. Nine-year-old Sebastián Quevedo, a participant, shared his experience: "I fell, and I didn't wake up. They had to take me to the clinic. I was scared, but then I overcame my fear." The fair also featured a food festival with a variety of Northern Peruvian dishes, artisan products, and an exhibition of sheep. One artisan described her organic wine as "special, pure, without any chemicals." The event was a success, highlighting the rich heritage of Paiján and the resilience of its community.
