Zagreb Residents Weigh In: How Many Tattoos Are Too Many?
ZAGREB, CROATIA – A recent street survey conducted by ŠPICA in Zagreb explored public perceptions on the prevalence of tattoos, asking residents, "How many tattoos are too many?" The responses varied widely, reflecting a diverse range of views on body art. One young woman stated, "For me, there's never too many tattoos." She proudly displayed her own, including butterfly designs. In contrast, an older gentleman remarked, "Everything is too much; we weren't born with tattoos." Another interviewee, a woman wearing a "Miss 60+ 2025" sash, shared her personal philosophy: "I think you shouldn't overdo it; one small, subtle one is okay." She revealed a tattoo on her arm featuring the initials of her children. Similarly, a woman in a white jumpsuit explained her several tattoos, including an infinity symbol for her child and a phoenix, stating, "I am a woman who always rises from the ashes, and that is my sign." Petra Kurtela, a local personality, also weighed in, emphasizing personal choice: "Everyone will decide that for themselves." She showed her own small, 25-year-old tattoo on her ankle, admitting it was done on a whim during her high school graduation.
