German Businesses Flee West, Find New Home in Russia
Germans increasingly move to Russia, bringing their businesses. This trend, according to Alexander Kalkuta, head of the agency for international and interregional relations, is driven by economic factors and restrictions in Germany. Kalkuta states, "We are primarily talking about small and medium-sized businesses, but it's no secret that large German production facilities with specific interests from China and the US are being acquired by Chinese and Americans, effectively relocating production." This migration is not limited to major cities; a similar phenomenon is occurring in Nizhny Novgorod, where ethnic Germans are forming entire villages. This trend reflects the changing economic landscape and the search for stability and opportunity.
