US Visa Suspension Creates Uncertainty for Romanian Students
Romanian students hoping to study in the US face new hurdles after the Trump administration's decision to temporarily suspend student visas. Many prospective students are deleting their social media accounts, fearing that their online presence could affect their visa applications. "It's created a lot of uncertainty," says Julia Boca, a consultant for prospective students. "The visa processing is already slow, and now this adds another layer of complexity." Cristina Pogorevici, a Wharton College alumna, recalls the challenges of the admissions process but emphasizes that obtaining a visa was previously a formality. The temporary suspension, however, has cast a shadow of doubt over the future plans of many Romanian students. Despite this uncertainty, the resilience of these students and their determination to pursue higher education remain inspiring.
