Pregnant Reality TV Star Shot in Bucharest; Ex-Boyfriend Sought by Police

A pregnant woman, Teodora Marcu, a former contestant on the reality show "Insula Iubirii," was shot multiple times on a street in the Cosmopolis residential area of Bucharest, Romania, on May 31, 2025. Eyewitnesses reported seeing a man approach Marcu, who was holding one of her young daughters, and open fire. A friend of Marcu's quickly grabbed her baby from her arms and sought help. The attacker fled the scene. Ioana Corneeva, a journalist reporting live from the scene for Digi24, stated, "It's a massive police presence here at the entrance to the northern Bucharest neighborhood. Police are searching for the attacker, identified as the victim's ex-boyfriend." Marcu was rushed to Floreasca hospital in critical condition. The incident is a shocking reminder of violence against women and the importance of addressing domestic abuse.
