A man in his 80s tragically perished in a suspicious house fire that gutted a home in Sydney’s inner west overnight. The incident occurred on Irrara Street in Croydon, just after 4:00 AM. NSW Police Superintendent Christine McDonald confirmed the death and revealed that a search is underway for a 50-year-old male resident, also believed to be related to the deceased and an elderly woman who is assisting police with their inquiries. "Police have commenced an investigation," Superintendent McDonald stated, emphasizing that the investigation is considered suspicious. "We are wanting to account for all occupants of the residence," she added. The fire was extinguished by Fire and Rescue services, and the investigation is ongoing.
