Major Fire Erupts on Cargo Ship in Marseille Port

A fire broke out on the cargo ship "Piana" in the port of Marseille on the morning of June 7th, 2025. More than 110 firefighters responded to the emergency. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but early reports suggest it started in the ship's engine room. "It was a chaotic scene," said a nearby dockworker who witnessed the event. "Flames were shooting out of the ship, and smoke filled the air." Firefighters worked tirelessly for several hours to bring the fire under control. The quick response and effective firefighting efforts prevented the fire from spreading to other vessels in the busy port. Thankfully, there were no serious injuries reported.
