A recent video by mechanic Juan José Ebenezer, founder of Talleres Ebenezer, highlights crucial advice for car owners regarding silentblock replacement. Speaking from his workshop, Ebenezer emphasized that suspension arms are not wear-and-tear parts, and often, only the silentblocks require replacement, not the entire arm. "When you need to replace silentblocks, always opt for original or first-brand parts," Ebenezer advised. He noted that while it might be more involved for mechanics to replace only the silentblock within the arm, it is ultimately more economical and beneficial for the client over time. "Replacing the entire arm might seem easier, but for the client, considering the cost difference and labor, it often evens out, and using original silentblocks provides better long-term performance," he explained. Ebenezer also stressed the critical step of wheel alignment after silentblock replacement. "Many people skip this, but it's essential," he stated. "Without proper alignment, you risk irregular tire wear and issues with the car pulling to one side, which can be dangerous and costly in the long run." His advice aims to help car owners make informed decisions about their vehicle maintenance.
