Polish Mothers' Campaign Challenges Traditional Stereotypes
A new campaign in Poland challenges the traditional image of the "Polish Mother," aiming to alleviate the pressure on women who juggle work and family. 78% of Polish women feel the pressure of this stereotype, according to a recent report. "Women are tired of this pattern. They need support and rest," says one woman interviewed for the report. The campaign, "Polish Mother Leaves the House," highlights the need for more flexible work arrangements and a more equal distribution of household responsibilities. Professor Anna Wojciuk, from the University of Warsaw's Department of Political Science and International Studies, adds, "The report paints a picture of Polish women as burnt out and exhausted, primarily due to the double burden they carry." The campaign hopes to bring about lasting change, not just temporary relief, to support Polish women in their roles.
