Madrid's 'Ungovernable' Building Gets a 4 Million Euro Makeover
Paseo del Prado 30 in Madrid is undergoing a transformation. What was once known as 'La Ingobernable,' a building illegally occupied for two years, is now under construction to become a health center and cultural hub. The project, costing 4 million euros and funded by the Madrid City Council and Community of Madrid, is expected to be completed by summer 2027. "It's a privileged location," stated an official, highlighting its proximity to the Prado Museum and other cultural landmarks. The video shows the building's dilapidated condition before the renovation, as well as the police operation to clear the squatters in 2019. The project represents a significant investment in the city's infrastructure and cultural resources, transforming a symbol of past conflict into a space for community benefit.
