A young woman from Johnson County, Kansas, Sarah Milgrim, and her fiancé were shot dead near the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C. The incident occurred on May 22, 2025, after an event at the museum. Milgrim's father, Robert Milgrim, described his daughter as "passionate," particularly about environmental issues. She graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School in 2017 and from the University of Kansas with a degree in environmental science in 2021. She was also a beekeeper. News reports indicated that Lischinsky was planning to propose to Milgrim. The Israeli Embassy confirmed that both victims were staff members.
