Gaza Boy's Life Saved by Sister's Transplant in UAE
Against the backdrop of ongoing conflict in Gaza, a heartwarming story of hope and resilience has emerged. Twelve-year-old Oday Jedba, suffering from the rare immune disorder DADA2, faced a life-threatening situation. His family's desperate plea for help led to his evacuation to the UAE, where he received a life-saving bone marrow transplant from his sister, Doaa. "When we got the call that my son Oday was going to travel to the UAE, we were so happy and thanked God," shared Khaled Jedba, Oday's father. However, the journey was fraught with anxiety. "We were afraid that before Oday reached the UAE, he would die or we would die under the bombing," Khaled admitted. The successful transplant and the family's subsequent reunion in Abu Dhabi offer a powerful testament to the human spirit's capacity to overcome adversity. Oday, now recovering, dreams of becoming a doctor, a symbol of hope and a testament to the life-saving intervention he received.
