Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has issued a stark warning regarding the future of marriage equality in the United States, predicting that the Supreme Court may soon overturn the national right, similar to its decision on abortion. In an interview, Clinton stated, "The Supreme Court will hear a case about gay marriage. My prediction is, they will do to gay marriage what they did to abortion. They will send it back to the states." She cautioned that this could result in a ban on same-sex marriage in nearly half of U.S. states. Clinton also criticized the Republican party, asserting that they are not interested in a "fair fight" in elections. She elaborated, "They don't want to have a fight about the issues, they want to distract and divert attention away from all of their problems, and more importantly, not just their political problems, but the problems they're causing to American businesses, American consumers, to our institutions." She suggested that Republicans are strategically positioning these issues to be addressed after the 2026 elections, aiming to secure electoral victories before implementing further changes.
