TikToker Sparks Debate Over Charlie Kirk's Empathy Stance and Past Controversial Remarks

In a recent viral video, a woman identified as Christy, known on TikTok as @thisisnotchristy, has sparked a debate by addressing conservative commentator Charlie Kirk's controversial remarks on empathy and other social issues. The video, uploaded on September 11, 2025, from the US, has garnered significant attention, accumulating over 63,300 views and 11,100 likes. Christy directly quotes Kirk, stating, "I can’t stand the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made up new age term, and does a lot of damage." She then proceeds to recall several past statements attributed to Kirk, including his assertion that "black women didn’t have the same brain processing power." She also referenced a statement where Kirk allegedly deemed "children dying in mass shootings was deemed worth it" and his hypothetical stance on not forcing his daughter to carry a child if she were 10 years old. Critically, Christy labeled Kirk a "raging racist" who used his platform to "spew hatred towards marginalized groups." She argued that while some might acknowledge Kirk's personal roles, such as being a father, these do not overshadow his public actions and statements. Concluding her argument, Christy stated that since Kirk himself did not believe empathy was real, it is unreasonable to expect people, particularly those he targeted with his rhetoric, to mourn him. The video has ignited further discussion online regarding public figures' past statements and the concept of empathy.
