PHOENIX, AZ – Marco Antonio Barbosa, the owner of the popular local eatery Tortas Manantial, has released a video statement addressing what he describes as false rumors circulating about his business's stance on immigration. Barbosa, who identifies himself and his wife as immigrants, expressed deep distress over claims that his establishment is against its own community. “I just found out that there’s a video going around with things like we are against our own people, against immigrants, which is totally false,” Barbosa stated in the video. “We are immigrants, my wife and I. We have had to live through many very hard things that we wouldn’t wish on anyone.” Barbosa emphasized that his family and business would be the last to act against anything that could harm the immigrant community. He conveyed that the misinformation has led to threats against his business and, more importantly, caused significant worry for his employees. “It truly pains my heart what I just found out, because what I have fought so hard for, which is my people, they think to give a bad image towards us,” he said, visibly emotional. “What matters most to me is the tranquility of my work teams.” He concluded his message by reaffirming his unwavering support for his community. “What is in this heart is you, my people, it is you. And for you, I would do whatever it takes.” The video has garnered significant attention online, with many expressing support for Barbosa and his business.
