Cargar el coche eléctrico a pleno sol: ¿el enemigo invisible del verano?
Altas temperaturas, menor autonomía y más desgaste. Así es como afecta el calor extremo a las recargas estivales.
Madrid, Spain – Toyota Kobe Motor has issued a crucial safety warning regarding a trending 'trick' for charging electric vehicles. The dealership highlighted a method circulating online that involves using a wet cloth on electric car chargers to purportedly accelerate charging times in high temperatures. According to Toyota Kobe Motor, this practice is highly dangerous. A spokesperson explained that placing a wet cloth on the charging cable can mislead the vehicle's temperature sensors, causing the car to believe the ambient temperature is lower than it actually is. This miscalculation can lead to the charger delivering excessive power, resulting in severe overheating of the battery and potentially causing long-term damage or even safety hazards. "This is not a solution," stated the Toyota Kobe Motor representative in a recent video. "It can produce overheating and carries very serious risks." The dealership strongly urged electric vehicle owners not to attempt this trick at home. Instead, Toyota Kobe Motor advises owners to charge their electric vehicles during cooler periods, such as at night, when temperatures are naturally lower. This practice ensures a safer and more efficient charging process, protecting the vehicle's battery and its longevity. The company emphasizes adhering strictly to manufacturer guidelines for all charging procedures to guarantee safety and optimal performance.
