Air travelers should never put this precious item in security bin when going through TSA: ‘Stolen on a regular basis’
“Always make sure your valuables are zipped up.”
A recent video from travel content creator Travel.by.the.Books highlights a crucial travel safety tip for airport security. The creator, known as Travel.by.the.Books, advises travelers against placing their mobile phones directly into the plastic bins provided at TSA checkpoints. Instead, she recommends securing phones within a zipped pocket inside a personal bag before sending it through the scanner. The tip stems from a personal encounter where a TSA agent informed her that phones are among the most frequently stolen items at security checkpoints. The agent reportedly told her that leaving a phone exposed in a bin is the "fastest way to get it stolen," especially as lines can back up, creating opportunities for theft. This simple precaution aims to prevent theft and the significant inconvenience of losing a phone while traveling.
