In an era dominated by online booking platforms, a travel agent is shedding light on the often-overlooked benefits of using a professional to plan your next trip. According to Travel Agent Andy, many millennials and Gen Z travelers are unaware that travel agents still exist and offer significant advantages, especially when booking hotels. "It feels like millennials and Gen Z are just now starting to catch on to the fact that travel agents like myself still exist in the world," Andy stated in a recent video. He highlighted that his services are completely free to clients, as agents are compensated by hotels, not the traveler. "You're not going to be paying anything extra than you would be on the hotel's website." Andy further explained that booking through third-party websites can inadvertently label guests as 'budget travelers' by hotels, potentially limiting access to perks. In contrast, hotels are incentivized to offer VIP treatment, room upgrades, welcome kits, free breakfast, early check-in, and late check-out to clients sent by travel agents, as agents continually send business their way. "They want me as an agent to keep sending clients back," he noted, emphasizing the reciprocal relationship that benefits the traveler. "You get those for free, just for booking with me. You don't pay anything else out of pocket."
