
Second Arrest Made in San Bartolo Murder Case
The murder of Andreina Farias in San Bartolo, Peru, continues to unfold with the arrest of a second suspect, Jean Carlos Montero Huaylinos. Police apprehended Montero on June 6th, 2025, while he was reportedly loitering near the Dirincri headquarters. In his statement, Montero confessed to having had a relationship with Farias but insisted it was consensual. "I am willing to tell the truth," Montero reportedly said to investigators. This confession adds a new layer to the investigation, which already involves his accomplice, Ruben Cuevas Velasquez, currently in preventive detention for the crime. Security footage from the day of the murder, included in a recent viral video report, shows Montero and Velasquez entering Farias's home on May 13th.
