Local Turtle Hospital Releases Rehabilitated Sea Turtle Back into Ocean

The Turtle Hospital in the Florida Keys recently released a juvenile green sea turtle named Toaster back into the ocean. The release was livestreamed, providing viewers with a detailed look at the pre-release process. The staff carefully weighed, measured, and tagged Toaster, adhering to strict state and federal regulations. One staff member stated, "When sea turtles are a certain size, they get a pit tag, similar to what some people get for their pets." The video also highlights the hospital's work rehabilitating sea turtles affected by cold-stunning events, with 56 turtles transferred this past winter, some from as far as New England.
