US Senators: No Peace Deal with Russia Without Return of Abducted Ukrainian Children
Washington D.C. - A bipartisan group of United States senators has introduced a resolution making it clear that no peace agreement with Russia is feasible unless all Ukrainian children who have been abducted are returned. The resolution, spearheaded by Senator Chuck Grassley (Republican) and Senator Amy Klobuchar (Democrat), has already garnered support from 72 senators, surpassing the threshold required to overcome a potential presidential veto. The resolution emphasizes the importance of returning the abducted children before any peace talks can commence. "This is not just a war crime; it's an attack on the future of Ukraine," said Senator Klobuchar in a statement. The resolution also proposes imposing a 500% tariff on imports from countries that purchase Russian oil, gas, and uranium. This comprehensive approach underscores the seriousness with which the senators view the situation and their determination to secure the return of the abducted children. The Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, welcomed the resolution in his Telegram channel, calling it a significant signal of support from the United States.
