Tougher Sanctions Urged to End Ukraine War
Ukraine and the EU are urging the US and its allies to impose tougher sanctions on Russia to force an end to the war. The call comes as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy highlighted the need for stronger measures in an interview with ABC News. A proposed US bill, backed by 82 senators, aims to impose a 500% tariff on any country importing Russian energy. Senator Lindsey Graham stated that the Senate will provide President Trump with more tools to pressure Russia. Meanwhile, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda called for maximum restrictions on Russian banks and energy companies, including removing remaining banks from SWIFT and expanding sanctions to include the "shadow fleet". The video shows Russian companies already facing severe financial problems due to the existing sanctions.
