Danish Air Force Major Recounts 1955 UFO Encounter: "The Saucers Could Hear Me"
COPENHAGEN – A remarkable account from a former Danish Air Force Major, Hans Petersen, sheds new light on an alleged UFO incident over Denmark in 1955. Petersen claims that unidentified flying objects, detected on radar, demonstrated an uncanny ability to react to his spoken commands, disappearing instantly when interception by military aircraft was ordered. According to Major Petersen, who was a Captain at the time, radar operators reported an object moving at an astonishing 18,000 kilometers per hour. Initially disbelieving, Petersen witnessed the phenomena himself. He described how objects would appear stationary around the airfield, then vanish without a trace as radar sweeps passed. On one particular day, with four jets ready for takeoff, Petersen observed 12 objects on radar. He instructed pilots to intercept, stating, "You are cleared for takeoff to intercept unidentified flying object." Immediately, 10 of the objects disappeared. When the sweep returned, only two remained, located 10 miles north and 15 miles south of the airfield. Petersen asserts that the objects clearly responded to his verbal instructions, suggesting an awareness of human communication. Meteorological explanations, such as temperature inversion, were reportedly ruled out by subsequent analysis.
