Bolivia May Get a Long Weekend: Government Considers Holiday Shift
Bolivia considers shifting Corpus Christi holiday to create long weekend. Amidst upcoming holidays – Corpus Christi on June 19th and the Andean Amazonian New Year on June 21st – Bolivia's Vice Minister of Tourism, Hiver Flores, has proposed a change. Flores has requested the Ministry of Labor to evaluate the possibility of moving the Saturday holiday to Friday, creating a four-day weekend. This initiative aims to stimulate domestic tourism and provide a more extended period of rest for Bolivians. "It's possible to consider moving the New Year holiday to Friday," Flores stated in a press conference. The Ministry of Labor will now assess the feasibility and economic impact of this proposal before making a final decision. The outcome will impact businesses, tourism, and the daily lives of Bolivians, potentially leading to a significant boost in domestic travel during the extended holiday period.
