Bolivia Braces for New Cold Front: Temperatures to Plummet in Five Regions
La Paz, Bolivia – The National Service of Meteorology and Hydrology (SENAMHI) has issued a warning regarding a new cold front expected to impact Bolivia starting Monday, June 23rd. Journalist Fabiana Lijerón reported that the weather phenomenon will bring significant temperature drops, rainfall, and electrical storms, particularly to the central regions of the country. The five regions anticipated to be most affected include Santa Cruz, the Cochabamba Tropic, Beni, Los Yungas, northern La Paz, and Pando. While the Altiplano and valley areas are also expected to experience lower temperatures, the impact there is projected to be less severe. Residents are advised to prepare for the colder conditions. This weekend, however, is expected to be more agreeable as the previous cold front has dissipated. Winter officially commenced on June 21st, signaling the start of the colder season.
