
Ex-Husband Confesses to Murder of Event Promoter, Body Found in Tietê River
The body of 31-year-old Amanda Caroline de Almeida was found in the Tietê River in Santana de Parnaíba, São Paulo state, on May 30th, 2025. Her ex-husband, Carlos Eduardo de Souza Ribeiro, confessed to her murder, which occurred ten days prior in Osasco. According to police, Ribeiro admitted to disposing of Almeida's body in the river after killing her. Security camera footage shows two individuals leaving Almeida's residence carrying what appears to be a body wrapped in a blanket. "The images were crucial in solving the case," stated a police spokesperson. Ribeiro also implicated his brother as an accomplice. Both men are currently in custody. The relationship between Ribeiro and Almeida lasted 16 years and produced three children. Police suspect Ribeiro could not accept the end of their relationship.
