Officers from the Baranovichi City Department of Internal Affairs' drug control unit discovered and seized 11 cannabis plants, along with growing equipment, from his apartment. The suspect confessed to cultivating the plants for personal use. "The individual was detained and admitted to cultivating the cannabis for personal consumption," stated Olga Davidovich, senior inspector of the Baranovichi City Department of Internal Affairs' public relations office. The investigation has been launched under Article 329 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, which carries a penalty of up to three years' imprisonment. The incident serves as a reminder of the strict laws surrounding drug cultivation and use in Belarus.
