Foreign Workers Power Belarus's Economic Growth
Belarus: Labor Migration Fuels Economic Growth Grodno Region, Belarus – Labor migration is playing a significant role in boosting Belarus's economy. Over 27,000 individuals from more than 100 countries currently work in Belarus across various sectors, including manufacturing, construction, and transportation. The government actively supports the integration of these workers. One example is the successful integration of an Egyptian glassblowing team at a glass factory in Lidskiy rayon. Following a pilot program, the factory is expanding its collaboration with foreign workers. "We are expecting the Egyptian brigade of five glassblowers in June," said Yulia Urbanovich, head of the factory's personnel department. "They are eager to demonstrate their skills and learn from our expertise." The influx of skilled workers addresses labor shortages in key industries and contributes to economic growth. The government's proactive approach in supporting migrant workers' adaptation ensures a smooth integration process and contributes to the overall success of this initiative.
