Anticipation builds as details emerge regarding the potential design of the 2026 Nissan Sentra, based on its recently unveiled twin model, the Nissan Sylphy, in China. Automotive enthusiasts and potential buyers are keen to see how Nissan's popular compact sedan will evolve. The new design, which reportedly draws inspiration from Nissan's Ariya and Murano models, showcases a more modern and aggressive aesthetic. Key features include a streamlined front grille, sharp, blade-like headlights, and a distinctive full-width LED light bar spanning the trunk. The vehicle's silhouette is described as more pronounced, contributing to a contemporary look. In terms of dimensions, the Sylphy measures 4.65 meters in length, 1.82 meters in width, and 1.44 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 2.71 meters, suggesting a spacious interior. Under the hood, the Chinese Sylphy model is equipped with a 1.6-liter engine producing 135 horsepower, paired with a CVT transmission. For the Mexican market, expectations are for a more powerful 2.0-liter engine, with a potential 1.5-liter turbocharged option. There is also speculation about the introduction of E-Power hybrid versions. This design overhaul is seen as Nissan's strategic move to revitalize the model and address current market demands, aiming to maintain its competitive edge in the compact sedan segment.
