Volkovysk Transformed: Major Renovations Underway for Dozhinki Festival
Volkovysk, Belarus, is undergoing a major transformation in preparation for the "Dozhinki" festival. Governor Yuri Karayev announced significant improvements during a recent livestream. "Volkovysk is truly being transformed—a result of the coordinated efforts of the district leadership, headed by Dmitry Zakharchuk, and the concentration of regional resources," Karayev stated. This includes road upgrades, school renovations, utility modernizations, and central square improvements. Addressing concerns about radio reception, Karayev acknowledged the technical challenges but expressed a commitment to finding solutions. "Technically, it's difficult to solve the issue due to Volkovysk's low-lying location, but we can explore options—possibly building taller towers or installing signal boosters. I understand that people need a choice," he explained. The improvements showcase a substantial investment in the city's infrastructure. The successful completion of these projects will not only enhance the city's appearance for the festival but also improve the quality of life for its residents.
