Ghana's Education Trust Fund Receives Billions to Support Free SHS
Ghana's Education Trust Fund Receives Significant Funding to Address Free SHS Challenges Ghana's Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has received a substantial boost in funding, ensuring the continuation of the Free Senior High School (SHS) Programme. The GETFund has received a total of GH¢2,277,947,000 for the months of January, February, March, and April 2025. This significant injection of funds comes as a welcome relief, addressing previous challenges that hampered the smooth implementation of the programme. According to the Finance Minister, these challenges included issues with feeding students. "Consequently," the Minister stated, "the challenges, including feeding, which previously impeded the smooth implementation of the programme, have been resolved." The timely allocation of funds is expected to ensure the uninterrupted provision of quality education to senior high school students across Ghana. This development underscores the government's commitment to providing accessible and affordable education for all citizens.
