Olivia O: The $200 Million Superyacht Redefining Luxury with a 'Stealth Warship' Design
The superyacht world is abuzz with discussions surrounding the Olivia O, an 88.5-meter explorer yacht that challenges traditional luxury vessel aesthetics with its unique X-Bow® design. Delivered in 2020 by Norway's Ulstein Verft, the Olivia O features a reverse bow, a design more commonly associated with offshore supply vessels, which is engineered to enhance seaworthiness and provide a smoother experience in challenging marine conditions. This unconventional exterior, however, belies an interior of unparalleled luxury, described as a 'billionaire's sanctuary.' The vessel offers accommodation for 12 guests across eight cabins, supported by a crew of up to 30. Onboard amenities include a state-of-the-art cinema, a spa, a fully equipped gym, a beach club, and a striking 10-meter glass-sided swimming pool located on the aft deck. Propelled by twin Caterpillar 3516C diesel engines, the Olivia O achieves a cruising speed of 14 knots and a top speed of 17 knots, boasting an extensive range of 8,500 nautical miles, making it suitable for long-range, high-latitude expeditions. The yacht was commissioned by Israeli billionaire Eyal Ofer, who named the vessel after his daughter. Industry reports indicate a construction cost of approximately $200 million for this distinctive superyacht.
