Woman Arrested for False Kidnapping Claim at Walmart
New Haven Woman Arrested for False Kidnapping Report at Walmart A 24-year-old New Haven woman, Shawnee Lone-Eagle, faces charges after falsely reporting a kidnapping at a local Walmart on Foxon Boulevard. Police responded to the scene Tuesday afternoon to a report of a kidnapping. Lone-Eagle claimed a white male had kidnapped her and her daughter, forcing her to shoplift at the store. She stated that the kidnapper was holding her daughter in a black sedan and threatened to drive off with the child if she didn't cooperate. However, police investigation, aided by surveillance footage, revealed Lone-Eagle's story was false. Officer Christian Bruckhart of the New Haven Police Department stated, "It doesn’t get much more serious." The video evidence showed Lone-Eagle arriving at the Walmart by bus, without her daughter. She later admitted to the false report. In addition to the false report charge, Lone-Eagle also had an outstanding warrant for breach of peace. Her daughter was unharmed. This incident serves as a reminder of the seriousness of making false reports to law enforcement and the importance of responsible reporting.
